Calamvale Special School is a Queensland State Special School providing highly individualised educational programs delivered by a multidisciplinary team of classroom teachers and support staff. We are committed to considering the way that each child’s intellectual functioning impacts their ability to access and participate in learning, including communication, making sense of the world around them, forming meaningful relationships, and developing their physical and mobility capabilities.

Our school caters to students who have an intellectual disability who may also have autistic spectrum disorder, sensory or multiple impairments from the age of five to seventeen years, with the potential to extend their learning by a further year. The senior school subjects purposefully provide the necessary functional skills to support students living and accessing their community as well as potentially working within supported or open work placements.
